Why can issues occur with the device after a battery replacement?

I bought a battery and after replacing it, my phone is overheating. What should I do?

If you notice issues after replacing the battery (e.g. overheating, rapid battery drain, or the device not turning on), the battery itself may not be the cause. In many cases, the problem lies in a hidden defect on the phone’s motherboard – even if the device appeared fully functional before the replacement.

⚠️ What can cause hidden issues in the phone?

The motherboard may be damaged without any visible signs. Common causes include:

  • Phone drops – even without visible external damage, internal connections or components may be affected.

  • Mechanical stress – for example, carrying the phone in your back pocket and sitting down can bend or damage internal parts.

  • Liquid exposure – moisture, sweat, rain, or splashes can cause internal corrosion or oxidation.

  • Cold solder joint – a weak or unstable electrical connection, which can result from:

    • loosened soldering due to vibration or heat changes,

    • corrosion or dirt on connectors,

    • poor contact between the battery, motherboard, or other components (e.g. Wi-Fi, display).

🔋 Battery overheating – is the issue with the battery or the phone?

If your device starts overheating after a battery replacement, it is most often due to an internal issue with the phone, not a fault in the battery itself.
The battery relies on power management controlled by the motherboard – and if the motherboard is damaged, it can affect the behavior of the new battery.
